Tropical Storm Lee
On September 8, 2011, Tropical Storm Lee ripped through Northeastern Pennsylvania and dropped a significant amount of rain on the Wyoming Valley. This rain caused the Susquehanna River to raise to a record level of 42.66 feet. This resulted in a mandatory evacuation of Plymouth Borough along with widespread flooding. Emergency Services Personnel spent countless hours over the next 5 days pumping streets and homes, sandbagging, evacuating residents, patrolling the streets and dike and cleaning up after the disaster.
